• Which airport do I fly into and how do I reach Matachica from there?

    We suggest flying into Belize City Airport (Philip S W Goldson International Airport) then taking a short local flight via Tropic Air to the town of San Pedro on the island of Ambergris Caye. From here, a Matachica representative will meet and guide you to our complimentary water-taxi service to reach the resort.

  • How far is San Pedro from Matachica and is there a transportation service available between the two?

    Matachica is located 5 miles north of San Pedro and offers a complimentary boat service between San Pedro and the resort several times during the day on a varying schedule, which is posted each morning at the front desk.

  • What type of Internet is available at Matachica?

    Matachica offers satellite Internet access for regular Internet and e-mail use. As well, Wireless access is available in the main building and surrounding areas.

  • What types of amenities are there in the villas (i.e. TV, hair dryers, etc.)?

    Matachica is proud to offer a truly relaxing environment without TVs in the rooms though there is a flat screen television conveniently located in the Cinema lounge with a vast selection of DVD movies. Each Matachica room is equipped with L'Occitane products, Matouk & Frette towels, Matouk linens and private patio with hammocks.

  • Are there any restaurants close to the resort?

    In addition to Mambo, Matachica’s on site Restaurant, you will find great local restaurants in San Pedro, which is only a short taxi-boat ride from Matachica. Please contact us for the complimentary boat service schedule between San Pedro and the resort.

  • Is there swimming or snorkeling right off Matachica’s beaches?

    Yes, swimming and snorkeling is possible right at the shores of the resort and we offer complimentary use of snorkeling gear, or take a kayak for a little more adventure.

  • Is there sea grass along Matachica’s shores?

    Yes, there is sea grass in front of Matachica’s shores. This is a natural occurrence and sea grass is a vital element of the ecological marine world as many ocean species thrive on this to survive.

  • Is there a road/path for jogging?

    There are no official jogging path although our guests are often seen enjoying a run right along our beach.
